Glitch Shift
AvailableGlitch Shift holds the image steady, then interrupts it with brief bursts of digital distortion: the colour channels split apart and horizontal slices of the picture slip sideways, before it snaps back to clean. It is a deliberately loud effect, so it works best when the image itself is graphic or tech-flavoured.

Each loop contains a number of short bursts (you choose how many). Inside a burst the engine draws a handful of displaced horizontal slices and adds an RGB split. Between bursts the image is clean. The pattern is generated from a seed, so the same seed always produces the same result and you can try other seeds until the glitch suits your image.
Works best on
- High-contrast, graphic or neon imagery
- Streetwear, gaming, music and tech visuals
- Bold shapes and large type that still read clearly mid-glitch

- Small text or fine detail that must stay legible
- Calm, premium or family-oriented imagery where distortion feels off-brand
- Audiences sensitive to flicker: keep bursts few and intensity low, or choose another effect

Settings you can change
- Intensity
- How far slices shift and how wide the RGB split is, from 0.1 to 1. The default is 0.6.
- Bursts per loop
- How many separate glitches occur in one loop, from 1 to 8. The default is 3.
- Seed
- Changes the pattern of slices. The same seed always gives the same result.
- Loop duration
- From 1 to 10 seconds.
Exporting
The studio records the loop in real time, so a 4-second loop takes about 4 seconds to export. You get MP4 in Chromium-based browsers, WebM where the browser supports it, and a PNG-sequence ZIP as a fallback. GIF export is not available.

Yes. The bursts are placed deterministically across the loop, so it repeats without a visible jump.
Rapid distortion can be uncomfortable for some viewers. Use a low intensity and few bursts, and consider whether another effect suits your audience better. AniFX does not provide a flicker-safety guarantee.
Yes. The Seed setting fixes the pattern, so keeping the same seed and settings reproduces the same result.
No. The effect runs in your browser and the image stays on your device.
